Amazing, what flowers can do for an ambient space!

This evening we had the first event in Essen – we welcomed formart.

formart as brand of HOCHTIEF Construction brings together experience and expertise in the implementation of projects for residential construction and high-value commercial real estate. So we see it as distinction, that formart chose the surPLUShome as venue.

We wouldn´t say that by ourselves … but it is an real honor to hear such a statement by the German Federal Minister of Transport, Building and Urban Development Dr. Peter Ramsauer (CSU) regarding our home. In his speech, he pointed out that the integration of electro mobility and energy-efficient building design has to be strenged. Following the goals of the Solar Decathlon 2007 with the getting arround contest, he aims the house as beginning of an german federal initiative, which will try to increase cross-linking between each other.

German Federal Minister of Transport, Building and Urban Development Dr. Peter Ramsauer got a exclusive tour of surPLUShome. He was impressed by the integral students work.

It´s done! Yesterday representatives of politics, economy and reserach celebrated the opening of the surPLUShome in Essen. The house is part of the event program of the Cultural Capital of Europe Ruhr 2010 and we are proud to see, that our work in the Solar Decathlon 2009 is recognized that well.

This evening we finished repairing the parquet and after a short barbecue on the deck during the sunset, we started oiling the oak.

We had a good first week in Essen. There were a lot of problems to solve, but we almost did a good job. So we had to celebrate a bit on our deck.
