This morning the results of the communications contest where announced. It went very well … for mainly all other Teams. Team California did the frist rank with 67 points (of 75). We missed first place by 15 points.
So the mood of the Team went down a little, but we still are in second place overall.
The Solar Decathlon is an international competition run by the U. S. Department of Energy. The aim is to build a Zero Energy Home, which produces as much energy from renewable sources, as it consumes. Just like the Olympic decathlon this competition consists of 10 contests that center on all of the ways in which we use energy in our daily lives. The 10 contests are: Architecture, Market Viability, Engineering, Lighting design, Communications, Comfort Zone, Hot Water, Appliances, Home Entertainment and Net Metering. 20 teams of college and university students participate in the Solar Decathlon 2009, among them one team from Germany from Darmstadt University of Technology.

Tja, schade, dass Gast wohl recht hatte mit seiner Anmerkung bezüglich der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit. Dabei ist euer Blog doch dann wirklich besser geworden, zumal ihr ja sogar noch Berichte nachgereicht habt.
Auch dass auf der deutschen Version eurer Webpage immer noch Beiträge fehlen, sollte doch dadurch ausgeglichen werden, dass sie dafür in englisch schon verfügbar waren. ZUmal eurer Tour vor Ort ja wohl auch gut ist, denn warum sollten sonst so viele Leute anstehen.
